MFR (Leaders)

MFR (Leaders)

This is a 1-day course, for officers and yacht crew with leadership responsibilities and shore-based management. Aimed at enhancing your own MFR and developing your understanding of how to implement a positive organisational MFR culture, it has 2 separate but interconnected parts, meaning you can complete the course in 1-day or 2 half days - giving total flexibility.

Part 1 – MFR 4 Self: This element provides you with the key skills and understanding to build and maintain a high level of personal MFR. Afterall, as a leader you routinely have extra pressure and stress, and if you cannot look after yourself, you are unlikely to be able to look after your people. This part also covers the importance of role-modelling as a leader, as setting the right example is a key factor in establishing a positive organisational culture either onboard or in the workplace.

Part 2 – MFR 4 the Organisation: Having mentally fit and resilient people onboard or in your organisation does not happen by accident. Leadership is key to setting the right culture and creating an environment where people feel supported, appreciated, and safe. This part of the course explores a range of strategies and provides guidance on developing policies, procedures, and how to confidently support people who may be encountering difficulties and what can be done to get them back to peck performance.

Some of the themes covered are:

• MFR techniques for Leaders.
• Leaders personal stress management.
• Neutralising negativity.
• Developing a positive mindset.
• Developing effective working and lifestyle habits.
• Enhancing mental hygiene onboard.
• Coping with separation and social Isolation.
• Developing effective MFR strategies, policies and procedures.
